2023 Tohatsu 5 HP MFS5DS Outboard Motor

Tohatsu Outboards 5hp outboard engine delivers outstanding fuel economy and reliability second to none. The Tohatsu 5hp Model MFS5DS comes equipped with a 15 inch short shaft (also available in 20″ shaft length) and is a great source of portable power for jon boats, skiffs, and inflatables, as well as auxiliary power for sailboats and “kickers” for larger fishing boats.

The new MFS5DS also comes equipped with the newly designed top and bottom cowls based on Tohatsu Design Philosophy for Marine Products, 3-way storage positions without worrying about oil spill, ultra-low emission, EPA and CARB 3-Star rating approved, and the newly designed Tohatsu unique front and back carrying handles for easier transportation. Fuel is delivered via a portable 3.1 gallon external fuel tank and fuel line (included).

The Tohatsu 5hp outboard engine shares many 4hp features with the added benefit of a larger carburetor and propeller for increased performance. 

	Large Front & Back Carry Handles Ergonomically designed new Large Front & Back Carrying Handles which allow easier carry and transportation from having one handle positioned slightly below another.

	Front Mounted Shift Lever The new front mounted shift lever, an industry first in its class, allows for better drivability.
	Longer Tiller Handle The tiller handle has been extended 110mm from previous models for easier access and maneuverability.
